There are two basic ways to access Gmail from your tablet. You can either use the Gmail app , or you can use Android’s Browser app to access Gmail from the Web.

The Gmail app on Android tablets uses push email. That means that you don’t need to keep checking for new email. Your email is always on and always ready to receive new messages. This is just like keeping your desktop email client on in the background when you use your laptop. It’s the big advantage of Android’s Gmail app over your tablet’s Browser app, though the Browser app is useful when you need to tweak settings.
