Formats
E-books come in many formats, but there are a few main types you’re most likely to see. Amazon Kindle books are usually in .mobi or .azw format (.azw is based on .mobi format). Most other readers use ePUB or Adobe PDF formats (.pdf). All of these book formats can be locked with DRM—digital rights management—which is designed to prevent unauthorized copying of the book.
