Basic Tablet Gestures

As you explore your tablet, there are a few basic finger gestures that will help you on your way. Some gestures use one finger, and some use two. Most of the following gestures should be familiar if you've used an Android or similar smartphone in the past:

  • Tapping: Tapping is exactly how it sounds. Press lightly on the screen in a single spot for a short amount of time.
  • Long-press: Instead of tapping, hold your finger in place on the screen for a few seconds until something happens.
  • Swiping or dragging: Take one finger, press on the screen, and move it along the screen without losing contact.
