A Typical Activation Sequence

Not all tablets will have the same activation sequence, but the sequence will usually be similar. Here's how a Xoom with a Verizon Wireless data plan activates:

  1. Choose a Language: The default is English.
  2. Activate Verizon Wireless: Activate your tablet on Verizon. Wi-Fi-only customers will be prompted to enter information about their Wi-Fi access point instead.
  3. Use Google Location Service: Do you want Google to detect your location for things like Google Maps directions and search results? The default is yes.
  4. Sign in with Your Google Account: If you have a Gmail or another Google account, enter it here.
