19. Designing for My Mum

In the summer of 2005, I attended a conference at a certain software company’s research lab here in the U.K. The conference was all about exploring how to make computers simpler to use. There was a great session that covered a wide range of interactive design topics—although it did make me laugh that many of the speakers used very complicated academic language to discuss making things simpler. But to be honest, I think I was the only one who saw the irony in that.
