12 RELATIVISTIC KINEMATICS
The special theory of relativity demands that we examine and modify the familiar results of newtonian physics. We must start by reconsidering kinematics, the most elementary aspect of mechanics, a topic apparently so simple that we gave little thought to its foundations in our earlier discussion.
