Setting up the picture

There is no greater confusion in video operations than that caused by incorrect monitor set-up. Different monitors will show different pictures and where monitors are working side by side it is particularly irritating when they do not match each other. Avoid mixing products by different manufacturers wherever possible. Monitor set-up is a critical operation requiring a known signal source, and should ideally be carried out by one person following exactly the same procedure.
