Chapter 28. IMSplexes and the IMS Common Service Layer

An IMSplex is comprised of IMS and z/OS components that work together to improve the overall manageability of your IMS environments. An IMSplex contains one or more IMS subsystem components that work as a unit.

Typically, but not always, these address spaces:

• Share databases, resources, or message queues (or any combination)

• Run in a z/OS Parallel Sysplex environment

• Include an IMS Common Service Layer (CSL)
