William Bridges has been a leader in the field of transition management since his book Transitions: Making Sense of Life's Changes was first published in 1980 (second edition, 2004). For many years, he has worked with organizations to help them get their employees through the transitions they have to make with less distress and disruption. That work was the basis of his 1991 book Managing Transitions: Making the Most of Change (third edition, 2009).
