Chapter 34

Play in the Rain

When was the last time you went out and played in the rain?

Most of us did this as children, but have you done it recently? When was the last time you saw a downpour on a hot summer day and decided to run out and feel the instant cool? Or jumped into that massive puddle that formed on the side of the road to see how high you could splash it?

Here is the great thing about playing in the rain and why it is one of the final thoughts I want to leave you with as we approach the end of the book.

It is the perfect metaphor for walking on the path you are now taking. Things get messy. Sometimes it is dangerous, and it isn’t what most consider normal. Yet, it is also exhilarating, inspiring, and fun!

A lot of situations are just like this. It looks dark and scary, and most people would rather avoid getting involved. But I’m encouraging you to dive right in.

The road less traveled isn’t a smooth one, but it sure is awesome!

Life is too short to be shackled by constraints that other people put in place. Of course, your first instinct if your kids asked if they could go play in the rain would be to say no. The same thing goes for others around you. But we are of a different ilk, and we know that the rewards far outweigh the risks.

Jump in the puddle. Throw your arms out, and look to the sky in glee. Doesn’t it feel amazing?
