Preface

This book is written in second person, addressing “you” pretty much throughout. It’s a fair question to ask, “Who is this ’you’ that you’re talking to?” I have in mind, generally, the owner of a business when I address “you.” This book provides insights and questions to help a business owner think through the opportunities and complications of leading an organization into the unknown future.

Having said that, this book can be useful to a very wide audience indeed. People who lead nonprofit and public organizations face many of the same challenges as profit–making businesses.
