Conclusions

This book started by observing the hopes and dreams that motivate ­people to serve as leaders of organizations, and to serve as entrepreneurs who start businesses. We quickly acknowledged that harsh reality often sets in, under the extreme demands of running a business. We saw that the sheer complications involved in running a business impose overwhelming demands upon leadership. Maybe more importantly, we explored the difficulties of trying to control and lead an entity that has a life and a mind of its own.
