Chapter 43Don’t Commit All-In until You Prove That Customers Want Your Product and There’s a Business Model to Support It

Owen woke up refreshed. He hadn’t remembered Il Greco being that good. It was definitely one of the best nights that he and Lisa had shared in a long time.

He was enjoying a morning cup of coffee and catching up on the paper while Lisa slept. Pregnancy was forcing her to get some extra rest these days.

Owen heard a knock on the door and made his way to see who it was. He had only opened it a crack before Pitchford thrust the door open and strolled into the room.

“Good morning, sunshine!”

“Good morning to you, too, Pitchford.”

“I wasn’t talking to you, O.”

Lisa was still waking up and it took her a second to realize Pitchford was staring at her. “Pitchford!”

“Hey, Owen told me 9 A.M. for breakfast and it was hell trying to get a reservation.”

“Can you give me like 10 minutes and perhaps a smidgen of privacy to get ready?” Lisa negotiated.

“They’re going to give our table away. They told me as much when I got the reservation.”

“Okay, okay.” Owen was already dressed; he didn’t need much getting ready for breakfast. He grabbed his Buckeyes baseball hat and a letter he had left by the front door. “Come on, Pitchford. Let’s go down and get the table. Babe, we’ll see you in a couple minutes.”

“Thank you!” She was clearly relieved. Owen liked to come to her rescue, especially if it meant he got to eat sooner.

“Lisa, free mimosas only for another 30 minutes!”
