Access Security and Its Role in a Client/Server Application
When you upsize an Access database, the security that you have established on the Access database is not upsized. Microsoft leaves it up to you to establish security on the SQL Server. You can write code to read the security in the Access .MDB and create it on the SQL Server. If you opt not to use code, you must go through the tedious process of establishing security on each object in the SQL Server database.
