About the Author

Alan Cline has been a project manager for over 30 years, and a consultant for 20. He has run projects in a variety of domains: aerospace, telecommunications, finance, insurance, and software development. Cline also worked in various organization cultures from single personality-driven shops to large government shops.

Cline began doing concurrent engineering, incremental development, and Kaizen (a precursor to agile development) in the early 1990s. He was at the conference in Sunbird, Utah, in 2001 when the manifesto for Agile Software Development (more commonly known as The Agile Manifesto) was signed and agile was officially unveiled.
