Chapter 13. Creating Interactive Controls

Why use Flash for video? There are two reasons, one technical the other creative. The technical reason is that Flash is the leading way to display video on the Web if you want to attract the largest possible audience. More browsers have the Adobe Flash plug-in than any other technology.

That’s clearly an important reason to use Flash for video, but there’s a more exciting reason: Flash is an interactive, multimedia platform. By using Flash to play your video, you also gain access to Flash’s other capabilities. You can enable users to interact with video in all sorts of new and exciting ways. This chapter explores just the tip of this Titanic-sinking-sized iceberg.
