Conclusion

During a recent pilot study examining issues with virtual rapport, undergraduate participants nearly unanimously shared that they have been establishing and maintaining relationships virtually for years. Watching my seven-year-old effortlessly maneuver his blue hippo around Webkinz World®—including gaining skills so that his hippo could get a job and meeting up with friends to virtually play—I’m convinced that our next generation of leaders will not only want but expect coaching to occur virtually with technology seamlessly integrated.
