This volume of Advances in Computers is the 89th in this series. This series, which has been continuously published since 1960, presents in each volume five to seven chapters describing new developments in software, hardware, or uses of computers.

The computing landscape is ever changing. Today, we increasingly talk about engineering mobile apps that execute on our phones and tablet devices. We engineer our software with increasing focus on its future maintenance. Because of our end-users’ diverse needs, our software systems are highly configurable.
