Introduction

One of the significant trends in microelectronics research, started during last decade, is the effort to improve the performance of analog circuits exploiting digital circuits. In most of the situations, digital circuits are employed for the calibration and the correction of analog impairments, while, in some special cases, they may even replace their analog counterparts.
