Manual Control

Manual control, in which a minimum of local measurements and manual throttling valves are required, is becoming increasingly rare in its pure form even though it offers some advantages. The devices required for manual control are inexpensive relative to automated instrumentation and are easy to specify and install. Piping requirements are reduced by eliminating bypass valve arrangements and pneumatically operated equipment, while electrical requirements are reduced by installing local indication only.
