Introduction

Abstract

Advanced Persistent Security is a process of implementing a comprehensive security program. The concept and the resulting book comes from our frustration in watching security programs fail, frequently to a mysterious entity named advanced persistent threat (APT). Although people believe that an APT is unstoppable, the reality is that it is just persistent enough to find an inevitable opening.

By implementing a comprehensive security program, you can be much more effective in ensuring that the attackers do not achieve their goals. This process, although not simple, is more effective from a cost and results perspective than most security programs in practice.
