The Premise

The old rules of engagement for project work were:

  • Keep everyone busy.

  • Assign as many tasks to each resource as needed to keep them 100% busy.

  • Review tasks when you have time—once a week is plenty.

The new rules of engagement are:

  • Assign resources to tasks, not tasks to resources. Put as many resources as practical on a task to ensure the project task is completed as quickly as possible.

  • Review tasks daily and update the project data daily.
