What’s New for Templates in the 2007 Release

Templates take on a wider role in the 2007 release than they play in earlier versions. You can still create templates for the same purposes as you’ve used them in the past, but you can now also create and share a variety of custom content and custom formatting types as templates. In addition to saving documents as templates in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, you can save Quick Style Sets or Building Blocks to their own templates in Word, custom charts to their own individual templates in Excel, and your own custom Themes for use in all three programs.
