Chapter 2. Applying the Correct Maya Light Type

Maya offers six types of lights that emulate a wide range of real-world lighting situations. Familiarity with the way light interacts with various environments will benefit your 3D lighting. Light Fog and Light Glow effects are also available through Maya lights, giving you even more flexibility when re-creating specific lighting situations. The Relationship Editor can link lights to objects, allowing you to create multiple lighting setups in a single scene.
