This appendix is designed to give you the basics of HTML. If you have no prior knowledge of HTML, then it is critical that you thoroughly study this appendix before proceeding. However, if you are an experienced HTML programmer, you may wish to skim this appendix or skip it entirely. JavaScript is a scripting language that is embedded into HTML documents in order to add significant functionality to those web pages.
