Importing

Making full use of the powerful import options when you add photos to your Lightroom library is all about preparation.

A little time spent thinking things through before you click the Import button can save you hours of work organizing your image library later.

When you import photos Lightroom is in fact simply adding entries for those images to its library catalog file. These catalog entries include references to the locations of your image files.
