With the portrait retouching project in Chapter 14 you had a great deal of flexibility when deciding how much to tone down wrinkles and smooth skin.
The outcome could vary widely, depending on how much you faded tool strokes and individual layers with soft-edged retouching techniques. The goal wasn't a strict interpretation of the portrait subject. It was more concerned with making the subject look her best.
Though the goal with the project in this chapter is to make the subject, the hotel shown in Figure 15-1, look its best, some of the retouching techniques will vary. That's because it's important with this project to interpret the building as realistically as possible using more of a hard-edged retouching approach.
If you take the time to tackle this chapter, you'll learn some new tricks that are best revealed in a complex project like this one.
