Layer Masks

Now that you've seen how Photoshop's masking features work, let's take a look at how we can refine the results using a Layer Mask. A Layer Mask will hide areas of the image instead of permanently deleting them. That will allow us to fix areas that didn't quite look right and to modify the edge quality of the image. But before we can play with a Layer Mask, we'll need to convert the results we got with the masking tools into a Layer Mask so that the areas that have been deleted will instead be hidden in such a way that you can easily bring them back into view.
