Resolution and Line Art

When you have a pure black and pure white image, that's known as line art. With that type of image, you'll end up needing to use a special setting that you wouldn't normally use for photographic images. With any type of printer, find out the resolution of the printer and type the exact same number into your scanner when you scan the image. For instance, my laser printer is 600dpi, so when I scan a line art image for this printer, I use a scanning resolution of 600. That way the pixels that make up the image will be the same size as the dots that the printer will use to print it.
