Entering values

Some tool options bars, palettes, and dialog boxes contain options that you enter as values. There are various methods for entering values: sliders, angle controls, arrow buttons, and text boxes. As you do each lesson, whenever you’re asked to enter a value, use one of the methods listed below. In many cases, you may have a choice of techniques that you can use to enter the value.

  • Type a value in the text box. To apply your entry, do one of the following: select a different option or text box in the palette; press Tab to go to a different text box in the palette; click the background in the composition; or press Enter or Return.
