Master painters of old would paint in the flaws on their subjects as a finishing touch, a method of making paintings real. My personal work is never intended to be a literal interpretation of reality. I was molded to believe there is an idealistic life that we should pursue at any cost. Some people believe chasing this life will ultimately result in some sort of utopian existence, but what we really end up with is damage under the surface from struggling to maintain appearances.
