Work in Offline Editing Mode
The point of having a mobile version of Lightroom is to work on your photos anywhere, but the app isn’t completely independent. It needs an Internet connection to communicate with Adobe’s servers and download the higher-resolution files as you open and edit them. I can’t believe I’m typing this, but Lightroom mobile turns out to be tethered to the most ephemeral infrastructure the world has ever known.
It is possible to cut the invisible cord and work without an Internet connection using the offline editing mode. The key is to enable it before you know you’ll be offline, since it takes time to download the editable photos. You’re out of luck if you realize when you arrive that your vacation cabin has no Internet ...
