The adjustments you learned about in the previous lesson are global—they affect the entire photo (well, save for the edge vignette). To accentuate a certain area, you can perform local adjustments.

As you’re about to learn, Lightroom includes an impressive array of tools for this purpose, including the Graduated Filter, Radial Filter, and Adjustment Brush tools. However, when applied with a local adjustment tool, the sliders affect only certain areas.
