MANY INDESIGN FEATURES are not actual styles, but they incorporate style choices into their settings to increase formatting options and add efficiency. Among the most common are drop caps and automatically generated bulleted or numbered lists. Of course, you can use these features without saving them in a paragraph style or calling on any character styles, but to do so is to invite additional work for yourself.
