Getting started

In this lesson, you'll use a round and a rectangular box top as the basis for creating cylindrical and rectangular boxes. Before you begin, you'll need to restore the default preferences for Adobe Illustrator. Then you'll open a file containing the finished artwork to see what you'll create.

To ensure that the tools and palettes function exactly as described in this lesson, delete or deactivate (by renaming) the Adobe Illustrator 10.0 preferences file. See “Restoring default preferences” on page 4.

Start Adobe Illustrator.

Choose File > Open, and open the L12end_win.ai file (Windows) or the L12end_mac.ai file (Mac OS) in the Lesson12 folder, located inside the Lessons folder within the AICIB folder on your hard drive. ...
