Creating an envelope from a preset warp shape

Envelopes are objects that distort or reshape selected objects. You can make envelopes out of objects in your artwork, or you can use preset warp shapes. In this section, you'll select the curtain and distort it using a warp shape as its envelope. The curtain will look like a breeze is blowing it into the room.

1.
Using the selection tool, click the curtain to select it. (The curtain is actually several rectangles that are grouped.)
2.
Choose Object > Envelope Distort > Make with Warp.
3.
In the Warp Options dialog box, choose Rise from the Style menu. Select Vertical Bend, and enter 40%. Set the Distortion to 0% Horizontal and 40% Vertical. Select Preview to view the results, and click OK.
