Chapter 8. Optimizing for the Web

The roots of the versatile Fireworks are in web graphics—be it creating mockups, editing screen resolution images, or optimizing and exporting images to CSS and HTML. And with web graphics, you walk a fine line between quality and file size. Optimization reduces the amount of time a web browser takes to download and display those images.

In Lessons 2, 3, and 4, you learned the basics for working with graphics in Fireworks. Now, you’ll apply those skills to creating assets for web pages, and for web page creation itself. You’ll learn to do the following:
