Chapter Ten. Animation in Fireworks
As mentioned in Technique #66, if you are interested in creating complex animations for the Web, it would be a good idea for you to investigate Adobe Flash. That said, Fireworks does make it easy to build simple GIF animations and even export the animation as a SWF file. With the popularity of Flash and its ability to create rich interactive experiences, animated GIFs have taken a back seat in contemporary Web design, but they are still handy for quick, simple banner ads, animated progress bars, and the like.
