Flash and Dreamweaver are a natural fit. Flash is terrific for realizing the designer's imagination without compromise, from the most basic animations to fully realized rich Internet applications to full-screen, high-quality video. However, Flash exports a specialized format that requires a browser plug-in to be seen, and without a Web page to trigger the plug-in, Flash is far from ubiquitous. Although you could use other Web authoring tools, or even a text editor, to create your Flash-ready sites, no tool makes it easier than Dreamweaver.

Inserting a Flash movie into a Dreamweaver page is a snap. In fact, there's almost nothing to it: Just choose the Flash object from the menu or toolbar and choose your Flash file. Dreamweaver automatically reads the Flash metadata, sets the file dimensions, and presents other options. Best of all, Dreamweaver writes out all the necessary code that has become quite sophisticated and robust in the current version. The fact that you may not be aware of these code changes is a testament to the smooth integration of Flash and Dreamweaver.
