Getting Started

Application developers often have to work on lots of different projects, and each project is usually made up of lots of files and assets. To help manage the files and settings for each project, Dreamweaver encourages you to create a site for each.

Throughout this book, we’ll be creating all sorts of files, and so before we go any further, we need to create a site for our applications.

Note

Dreamweaver allows you to work on files directly, without creating a site first. But without a site, some functionality (such as the capability to directly launch ColdFusion pages) will be unavailable. Therefore, you must create a site to be able to follow the steps in upcoming chapters.
