Chapter 5. PDF Portfolios

PDF portfolios are new to Acrobat 9, replacing the more-limited “packages” of Acrobat 8. A portfolio is a PDF file that contains one or more individual files bundled into a single container. The files within a portfolio can be any of a wide variety of types, including Microsoft Word documents, Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft PowerPoint presentations, Apple QuickTime movies, JPEG images, Adobe Flash animations, and PDF documents. Each file within the portfolio retains its own identity; security settings and other characteristics of the document remain unchanged.
