Chapter 21. Securing the System

The secure system, the one without any intrusion and without any security holes, is an illusion. It isn't possible to create such a system because humans will always find a way to overwhelm or overcome any security measure you put in place. To employ an old cliche´, it's easier to destroy than build. You as a builder are at a disadvantage from the outset and the nefarious individual who wants to rob you of everything your system can provide knows it. Fortunately, the situation isn't hopeless. You can protect yourself from all but the most determined individual and with a little practice; you can even track the determined individual's forays into your system.
