Chapter 5. Getting Started with the HP StorageWorks P4000 Virtual SAN Appliance with Remote Copy

Hewlett-Packard (HP) provides both physical and virtual storage IP-based appliances for the storage market, and in 2009 it acquired Lefthand Networks, a popular iSCSI provider. HP provides a virtual appliance called the StorageWorks P4000 virtual storage appliance (VSA) that is downloadable from the HP website for a 60-day evaluation period. In this respect, the P4000 VSA is ideal for any jobbing server guy to download and play with in conjunction with VMware’s SRM—the same applies to EMC’s Celerra VSA.
