Recognizing theWarning Signs

Joseph Ferguson was a supervisor working for a security firm in California in 2001 when his co-worker-girlfriend told him that she wanted to break up with him. Ferguson reacted by taking an axe to the woman’s car, which was parked in the company parking lot. He was put on immediate suspension while the company assessed the risk he posed to the other employees.
