16.1 Pervasive computing
Pervasive computing [113] is a popular term used by many technologists and executives. It refers to the goal of achieving a transparent computing infrastructure that crosses every aspect of an individual’s daily life to an extent with few boundaries. The boundaries here refer to both the physical world and connectivity.
To be truly pervasive would mean that the degree of penetration is fairly high. Pervasiveness can also be measured by how useful the applications are and how interactive the environment can be. Thus, a pervasive computing environment would be virtually everywhere.
