Know Your Audience

In the real world, we will have done some research about who our audience was and what they wanted before we built our site, much less launched it. Regardless, though, we'll need to keep a careful eye on our users. Is there something new that caught their fancy? Have they lost interest in some of our key content? Have we attracted a whole new user base that we weren't expecting?

The best source for this kind of information is right at our fingertips. Our web server logs can provide a wealth of information about what our users want and don't want. Just looking at them will give us a sense of which areas are most popular and which are rarely seen by human eyes.
