Why Personalize?
At this point we've created content for our users, but we'd like to make sure that they keep coming back. One way sites accomplish this is with personalized content so that our users feel at home. This can take a variety of forms, such as keeping track of content a user has already seen and giving him or her additional content based on those actions or by just asking users their preferences and using those preferences to decide what to offer.
We're going to customize the site by building mySpace, an area that contains customized content based on the user's preferences. This area is going to have three sections:
myNews: Users will specify the categories of news they're interested in, and that will be given the highest priority. ...
