Summary

You covered a lot of ground in this chapter, and you're ready to get started building your site. You have

  • Installed and configured software to change your pages, such as Visual InterDev or your text editor and FTP client.

  • Learned enough HTML to build our basic home page. We've created the basic HTML structure, then added images and looked at their attributes. We also set the background color for the page.

  • Created a very basic Active Server Page using an if-then-else statement and looked at how to debug a page, even if you don't have a debugging tool.

In Chapter 3 we'll look at adding content to the site. We'll also look at Server Side Includes and using components such as the Content Linking Component and the Ad Rotator Component.
