This book has been an interesting exercise in patience and persistence. Mike and I started working on the book in the fall of 2001. After writing a couple of chapters each, work on the book was put on hold while the product delivery dates slipped (and the product went through several name changes). When we finally did get back to work on the book, it seemed like the deadlines were tight—making me almost wish that I had spent the summer working on the book rather than riding my motorcycle. But in the end, it all came together rather well.
