Windows Server 2003 Active Directory Administration Enhancements

Windows 2000 marked the first release of Active Directory, and many of the administrative tools that came with Windows 2000 were limited in some important ways. The Windows Server 2003 administrative tools provide some enhanced functionality.

  • Drag and drop functionality. One of the most requested new features in Windows Server 2003 Active Directory was the option to drag and drop objects within Active Directory administrative tools. For example, you can now move a user from one OU to another by dragging and dropping the icon for the user account to the new OU. You can add an existing user to a group by dragging and dropping the icon for the user account to the group account.
